nnnnbuilding inspectors are responsible for enforcing these building codes. They conduct inspections
nnnnat construction sites to ensure compliance with the building codes and sign off on projects that
nnnnmeet the standards. Local governments (city or county) have the authority to set their own
nnnnbuilding codes, and if they don’t, they defer to the State Housing Law. Local codes can also be
